Household Items for Natural Cleaning Alternatives
Here
are some ecofriendly, natural cleaning ideas using common
household ingredients!

Vinegar cleans – faucets, garbage
disposals, showers, toilet bowls
Borax cleans – mildew, red stains
Salt cleans – grease stains, sweat
stains, stainless steel sinks
Shaving Cream cleans – blood, chocolate,
and coffee stains
Ammonia cleans – BBQ grills, diamonds,
faucets
HOMEMADE CLEANING SOLUTIONS
Homemade Window Cleaner – ¼
c vinegar, ¼ c ammonia, ½ gallon water, dash
of joy dish soap, dash of lemon extract
Kitchen Counter Cleaner – in a spray
bottle put equal parts of water and white vinegar. Add 1
teaspoon salt. (you can substitute lemon juice instead of
vinegar)
Furniture Polish – 1 T sweet oil,
1 T lemon juice, 1 T cornstarch. Mix all ingredients together
and store in small jar.
HOW TO CLEAN COMMON HOUSEHOLD ITEMS
Cake Pans - Get baked on grime off of
cake pans with hot water and denture tablets.
Another way is to use 1 part baking soda and 2 parts borax
as a paste to scour.
Remove rust from baking pans - take a
raw potato, cut it open, and scrub the rust with powdered
detergent
Acrylic Shower Walls – 1 tablespoon
ammonia, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, 1 teaspoon water softener,
¾ cup warm water
Shower Tip - Rub your shower door with
furniture polish when you are done and the soap scum won’t
stick
TV Trick – Rub your TV with a fabric
softener sheet and the dust won’t stick
Faucets - How to clean the build up on
faucets. Use a lemon wedge dipped into salt. Another alternative
is to use vinegar and salt.
