Stop Phone Spam – Cell Phone Do Not Call List – Urgent!

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

You wouldn’t want to start getting telemarketer calls on your cell phone would you? Then you definately need to know that 15 days from today all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

That means that soon you will be charged incoming minutes for these sales calls… To prevent this, call the Do No Call list the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222. It is the > National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.

It blocks your number for five (5) years. Help others by passing this info along to all your friends. OR go to: DoNotCall.gov

Come as You Are Blog Party – Are you on “the list”?

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Have you ever been kidnapped and brought to a surprise party? Well, as I was perusing thru my morning favorite blogs I saw that my friend Alice Seba had invited me to a “come as you are” blog party. How fun! Thanks for the invite Alice! I’m in an awesome mastermind group with Alice and have learned so much from her. She’s one smart cookie! *grin* I’m “game” for that.

So here’s me at 7:53 am with wet hair and all (notice the thermal underwear shirt underneath the sweater. It’s supposed to snow a bunch today in Chicago. Brrrrr. And I’m pointing to the invite on Alice’s Blog.

Blog Come As you Are Party

Here are the instructions for coming to the party:

If you are on the invite list, take a picture of yourself (as you are) and post it on your blog. Then invite the next 4 bloggers that you want to see “as is”.

Then tell us WHY you look that way in your picture and saying something about the person that ‘tagged’ and invited you to the party.

So I’m inviting:

I’ll be looking to see you in your God given glory coming “as you are”.

Isn’t this fun?

In Recognition of an Amazing Woman – My Mom Who is Being Honored on Wednesday!

Sunday, November 12th, 2006

I just had to share how excited I am for my mom. She is an artist and a teacher at a school in Conroe, Texas. They asked her to do a mural in the school. And to be very honest, the school thought they were just getting a nice painting. And what my mom created is really a masterpiece that encompasses the entire hallway. She finally finished it after working on it for 6 months.

It’s funny, she said that the other teachers came up to her and said, we thought the painting would be nice, but we have NO idea it would turn out like this. She really blew them away.

Anyway, they are doing a big unveling ceremony for it on Wednesday. I guess the papers, TV etc are coming out to cover it. And they are having a ceremony to honor her, her work, and her contribution to the community.

So, I just wanted to share how proud I am of my mom. Everyone deserves one shining moment in their lives – this is hers. I am SO proud of her.

Since I am in Chicago, I haven’t seen it. But I guess it’s got the “I think I can” Choo Choo Train going thru it and so other cool stuff woven in. I am having her send a picture which I will post here later.

My mom taught me that you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to. She has fought against some terrible things in her life. She has always been put down for being different. But it’s because of her different take on things and her creativity that she has really made a difference.

So here’s to my mom. If any of you are in Texas and see anything in the newspapers or on TV about Paula Nelson from Conroe, Texas (by Houston) and her mural at the school in Conroe, please let me know.

How has your mom inspired you?

Search Engine Marketing Program Success
excerpted from an Advertising Age Search Marketing Fact Pack 2006

What kind of success did search engine marketing bring the companies who implemented it?
Data from IntelliSurvey & Radar Research commissioned by SEMPO, Dec 2005, via eMarketers’ Search Marketing: Spending and Metrics April 2006 Study found the following.

1. Increased Traffic Volume 80% – Yeah, you would hope better rankings would bring you more traffic!
2. Conversion rate 76%
3. Clickthough rate 69%
4. Return on investment 62%
5. Cost per click 60%
6. CPA 54%
7. Total number of online sales 52% – Interesting, all that extra traffic online increase sales for 52% of companies.

Hmmmm… kind of makes me wonder if people should focus first on making their website really sell and getting the conversion rate up, then getting traffic second.

Psst. The Motherload Guide to Websites that Sell shows you how to do just that!
