Recharge yourself with daily positive energy  6

Posted on April 21st, 2008. About Success Principles.

I was at a seminar this weekend and learned that 87% of everything we encounter is negative energy.  OUCH! Think of the people who discourage you, the criticisms they offer, and the negative self talk in our own minds.

It’s up to us to recharge our tanks with positive energy.  Some ways I like to do that is with affirmations, my dream map, and reading daily tips and inspirational quotes that inspire me.

One of my favorites is by Rhoberta Shaler.  She teaches about how to live a Soul Driven life and lead from a strong value centered place.

I love her daily spiritual quotes.  You can get them free at www.DailySpiritualQuotes.com

What recharges your battery and renews your spirit?  I’d love to hear!

Speaking to Customers in their Love Language - Show Appreciation in the way they like best  4

Posted on April 16th, 2008. About Customer Service.

I was at a sales seminar the other day and learned something really interesting I wanted to share.  We have all heard of the love languages and that in a relationship you need to show love to your spouse in the way that they “hear” it the best.  For some it’s written love notes, for other’s it’s verbal I Love You’s, for still others it’s about the things you DO that show your love.

Customers also have a love language.  Ask them the best way they like to be contacted: phone, email, IM, snail mail.  Also, find out what really makes them happy cards, gifts, periodic phone calls to check in, doing little extras for them, etc.

Just to share an example, I got a new team member on my direct sales team.  He is a major author, trainer.  I was sending him a lot of gifts (cards, tips, tools, Starbucks gift cards).  He made a point of telling me that while he appreciates that, it’s really not necessary and he really doesn’t prefer gifts.  He said he’d much prefer me “doing” things for him.  So he told me his “customer love language”.

Just something though provoking to chew on.  One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to appreciation.  Find out what makes your customers feel loved and appreciated.

You know I appreciate you guys right? Hugs!

EEEK - Someone hacked my blog!  4

Posted on April 16th, 2008. About Blogging.

Someone hacked my blog this week! First symptoms was people telling me that my blog put posting really spammy comments on their blogs about cigarettes, viagra, and other goofy stuff. Then the next thing I noticed was that someone told me the link to my blog wasn’t working. I also got an email from Technorati warning me that they detected I was using an early version of WordPress that may have security holes in it.  Then I tried logging into my blog and my blog login was completely disabled. I FREAKED out. What do I do?

Thank God for smart techie friends. I called on the phone to several of my smartest internet marketing buddies and sure enough one had a blog techie expert who was able to help.

1) He backed up my blog to ensure the hackers couldn’t wipe it out

2) He diagnosed the problem

3) He restored the ability for me to login to my blog

4) He updated my blog from Word Press 1.5 to the latest version. Apparently the early versions of Word Press have known security holes in them.

5) He advised me to create a WAY more secure username and password to get in your blog. I’m ashamed to say it, but my username was admin and my password was the name of a favorite cartoon character. Not too smart. If you use admin for your blog’s username, I HIGHLY advise creating a more secure login.

Anyway, I am sooo thankful to say that we caught the hackers before they did too much damage and was able to fix the problem.

Please do what you can to protect your blog against similar attacks. I’d hate for this to happen to you too!

Hugs,

Kristie T
