3 Linking Stategies To Avoid Like the Plague…
Thinking on Linking
Links to a Website are valuable and there’s no question now that some links are more valuable than others. Google is well-recognized as paying particular attention to links and adjusting their algorithms to suit this focus.
Here are 3 linking strategies that will hurt you.
The 3 don’t of linking.
1) Avoid Reciprocal linking. Google will likely see reciprocal links for what they usually are: an attempt to artificially increase the level of traffic to a site.
2) Don’t send all links to your home page. Spread incoming links around a bit to other internal pages of your site so that not all of the attention is focused on the home page.
3) Do not use identical link anchor text. If 100 links to our site use the exact same wording, that’s like putting up a big red flag for Google, saying “We run a link strategy to get more links to our site.” It just doesn’t look like the natural link gain that occurs for quality Websites.
Links to your Website can be very valuable for your search ranking. Treat them as such.
