Leo Babauta has a great blog called dumb little man – tips for life. Just stumbled across a great post on the top 20 online time wasters. Are you guilty of these?

The only 2 I struggle with is the constant email checking and the forums. At times I have gotten caught up with chat.

1. Email
2. Google Reader
3. Chat Software
4. Solitaire
5. World of Warcraft
6. Blogs
7. Forums
8. News sites
9. YouTube
10. Facebook/MySpace
11. Digg
12. Productivity Tools
13. Online Shopping
14. ESPN
15. Humor Sites
16. Wikipedia
17. Flickr
18. IMDB
19. Ask MeFi
20. Blog Stats

Okay, fess up. Which ones are you guilty of wasting time with?

Ok yes i am probably guilty of about 50% of these items, so what could you suggest would not be a waste of time on the internet?

The only one I am guilty of is blogs, but I can’t actually say that’s a waste of time for me, because I always leave comments, and get lots of traffic to my blogs that way! :)

Blogs and forums are my biggest ones…But having said that I need to spend time to reading blogs and forums…Like most of your readers I work from home and working from home is sometimes quite lonely…So I need blogs and forums…They are time outs from work and love keep in touch with other like minded people.

Email, blogs and forums can definitely be huge time wasters for me if I don’t pay attention to the time I’m spending doing each of them.

The only one I really have a problem with is email.

When I first started my online business, I avoided forums because I thought of them as time-wasters. But now there are two forums that I really have to participate in because they have so much educational value for me, and I wish I had spent more time there early on.

Finding balance is always a challenge!
