Be Proactive - from Franklin Covey
I was writing my plans for the day in my Franklin Covey planner and came across a page called, “Be Proactive“. I sent it to my friend, Randy Gilbert, aka Dr. Proactive to share it with him. I thought you would like it too.
Enjoy!

Taking Responsibility
Being proactive means more than taking initiative. It means that we take responsibility for our lives. Instead of blaming circumstances, conditions, or chance for our behavior, we choose our own responses and make our own decisions.
Ask
What is one improvement you could make in your professional life?
What is one improvement you could make in your personal life?
What activity can you plan that will help you to make one of the improvements you’ve described above? It may be just one step toward making the change.
Set a time and date for the activity you mentioned above. Schedule it in your planner.
Planner Tips
Decide to be proactive for a day. Turn around a difficult situation or take initiative to make improvements. If you are assigned to work on a project that has been poorfly defined, don’t complain about it. Analyze the project, outline the information you need, track down someone with the answers, and enjoy the positive energy of accomplishment.
One of the keys to successful living is being able to keep commitments and promises. Remember to take take to plan activities that will help you keep your commitments. For instance, if you promise to go to a movie with your spouse, schedule time in your planner a day before to finish up work or deal with anything else that could interfere with your outing.
