Pink Slips, Buy Outs, and Why Corporate America Sucks  3

Posted on September 21st, 2006. About Corporate America.

When you work in Corporate America everything about your future is held tightly in the hands of your employer. And when one company gets bought out by another company in a big corporate buy out, well, you can just kiss your job goodbye. That’s what happened to Kelly Ferry recently. And they are just “waiting” to see if her husband’s job will go away too because of a recent corporate buyout.

I’ll never forget a few years ago when the startup company my husband had worked for went bankrupt. As the last few days of his job came to pass we were freaked out about how to buy groceries and pay the mortgage. I NEVER want to feel like that again.

This is why I love owning my own home business. I am in charge of my paycheck. If I am not earning what I want, I know what to do so I can turn it around. I never have to wake up one morning worrying about the dreaded “pink slip”

If you’d like to start your own home business, here’s a guide that will help you do it right.

Bye Bye Boardroom - New Book!  (Leave a Comment)

Posted on May 2nd, 2006. About Corporate America, Kristie T Recommends, Work at Home Moms.

The 2nd Stop on the Mom Writers Blog Tour is that of mom author, Rachel Hamman. She is the author of the book “Bye-Bye Boardroom
Confessions from a New Breed of Stay-at-Home Moms”.

What I love about this book is that Rachel interviews real women who have decided to leave behind their corporate life to stay at home. Their insights and stories will make you laugh, cry, and really warm your heart.

Rachel has received a lot of notariety for her work to liberate women. In fact, that’s why she was named one of the “Most Remarkable Women” by Barbara Walter’s ABC show, “The View.”

Rachel is proof that it works. She is a corporate drone turn liberated woman herself. Her corporate background includes being a field marketing manager for E&J Gallo Winery, and an assistant vice president with Merrill Lynch in the Private Client Group.

And with all her accomplishments in corporate America, Rachel admits that her current role, however, as mother, humorist, and writer is the most challenging one.

I invite you to check out Rachel’s book “Bye-Bye Boardroom Confessions from a New Breed of Stay-at-Home Moms” at her website at rachelhamman.com
