Finding Courage To Begin Again
Posted on October 7, 2008 | 9 comments | Filed in UncategorizedOne of the hardest things to do is finding the strength to stand up and begin again after experiencing a devastating situation. Whether your business is going south, a new product bombed, or if you are facing a personal setback. This is something I personally have been going thru with my divorce. I admit that when you are experiencing hard times, sometimes you need to take a break to reflect, heal, and find the learning in the situation. But it’s what you do next that really matters. Do you hide in a closet and dwell in your pain? Or do you look deep inside yourself, find your courage, and step forward?
I actually was so devastated with my divorce I took a corporate job for 6 weeks just to get a paycheck and not have to think. And while it was what I needed mentally at the time, I found myself feeling guilty. Those 4 walls of that corporate office were fencing me in. And I felt God calling me to step up to the plate, be brave, and get back in action. So here I am back to motivate, courage, and inspire. And what’s funny, is how all of you have given so much back to me in the process.
My faith has been such a comfort during this time. I felt God telling me “I will take care of you”. This morning I heard the words, “Remember who you are” from Lion King. I also thought back to the words of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz saying “I had the power all along within me”.
I realized that I was making a choice about whether I was “ready” to claim my power again or play victim. Today I chose to reclaim my power. And it feels good.
What have you been through in life and business that really knocked you down? How did you find the courage to recover and get back in the game?
Wishing you all strength and courage in your journey. Be bold, step out, and SHINE!

“I get knocked down, but I get up again, ain’t nothin’ gonna keep me down. I get knocked down, but I get up again, ain’t …”
Keep singin’ it!!
Hey Kristie, In line with your first commenter, I’ll add, “Just Keep Swimming, Just Keep Swimming”. I’ve been running into lots of folks lately that are going through divorce. I have to wonder if this is because I’m surrounding myself with fabulous folks that are really stepping up to their lives, cleaning up their crap and allowing themselves to evolve to a higher level. Unfortunately, sometimes their spouses aren’t developing at the same speed and their becomes an insurmountable gap. It’s so hard for everone involved but in the end, everyone usually wins. Good for you for making the hard choices. I know you’ll do great things!
You know what they say. “When going get tough the tough get going”. It is hard to start something and be able to succeed when you have hard time going on in your life. I am going through hard time recently moving to a new place.

Hi Kristie,
In some ways yes, you are beginning again and starting at a new place, but in other ways you have already laid the foundations for a new and more fulfilling journey by clearing away the obsticles which may have held you back, realizing that those four walls can’t hold you in, and you are on your way to an even better and brighter future. It’s hard but I commend you for your willingness to take action and do what you know is in your heart and mind and where they are calling you. Your best days are still ahead of you so take action and press onward.

Great Site Kristie. Here’s my favorite inspirational quote – “Pain makes one think. Thought makes one wise. Wisdom makes life endurable.”
I love the Wizard of Oz Quite from Dorothy – “I had the power all along within me” because, just like Dorothy, we all have the power to do anything right within us!
