KEI: What a Keyword Effectiveness Index is
Posted on September 5, 2008 | 6 comments | Filed in UncategorizedIf you have heard the term KEI and scratched your head wondering what it is, let me enlighten you. KEI stands for Keyword Effectiveness Index. If you are doing keyword research for your business, KEI can help you choose hot keywords and find out how many people are competing for those keyword phrases. It offers a sort of index that tells you how hard it will be to optimize for those keyword phrases.
I found this great post on Derek Gehl’s blog that clearly explains what KEI is and how to use that number to choose hot keywords and find good niches for your product.

KEI Keywords are those that have many searches but dont have much competition.
And if you come on top from Higher KEI keywords then what’s the benefit of this
Hi Kristie,
I like n what you have post, it is very useful for the business.
I know that we can share good ideas one of these days.
Thanks!
Thanks for the info! With all the research I’ve done on this particular product, this is the first time I’ve found a clear description of what it is. I’ll have to check Gehl’s blog out, so I can (hopefully) better understand how to use this.
Hi,
KEI is at the heart of everything I do with my niche sites, there is no point posting pages for keywords with either too much competition or too little traffic. I use Keyword Elite for my research, it’s excellent … it shows you the KEI for every phrase it returns, based on general search, title search etc … so you get a really good feel for the “true competition” … if you want a great keyword tool that comes with a great tuturial, take a look at Keyword Elite here … http://www.keywordelitemasterplan.html
Yes, KEI it’s pretty good indicator if a keyword is profitable or not.
Like Richard I have been using Keyword Elite and I must say it is amazing.
Thanks for the helpful post.
Thanks for this useful post. I really know very little about this KEI. Now that I read your post I can use these strategies to build a successful online business.
