Watch out Barbie – Is Dr. Laura – The Hottest Christmas Toy?

Dr. Laura SchlessingerWatch out Barbie, Dr. Laura is coming to town. The new Dr. Laura Action figure is hitting stories in early November.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is popular radio host of the Dr. Laura Show. You either love her or hate her. She is also a best selling author of several books including, “The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands.”

She has a great section of work at home articles on her website including some of mine. *grin*

It really makes me wonder who she thinks will buy this? Now that Bratz dolls are taking a good share of the market, Dr. Laura in her yellow suit doesn’t stand a chance. I don’t think any little girl will want this.

Here are the phrases Dr. Laura says when you push the button:

Dr. Laura action figure says when you press her button:

- “I am the proud mother of an American Solider.”
- “Now go do the right thing.”
- “Please don’t argue with me – it makes me testy.”
- “Be the kind of person you’d like to come home to every day.”
- “Are you sure this is the hill you want to die on?”
- “I am my kids’ mom.”

Maybe there will be an audience for it with Dr. Laura fans or people buying a gag gift or just for kicks. What do you think? Will a Dr. Laura action figure find it’s way under your Christmas tree? Is it going to be one of the top Christmas toys?

    There is a huge sadomasochist crowd out there. Also I’ve heard voodoo. I can see them piled up in a warehouse & she’ll offer some deal. No self respecting child would want one.     It’s subtle things like these that make me worry about how the world will turn out for my kids. For every value I teach them, there will be a hundred other influences that seek to tear them down.
