What Gets you Pumped when the Chips are Down in Business?

Have you ever had a month in business where you didn’t make your numbers? Maybe sales were down. Maybe your phone hasn’t rung in a long time and it’s getting dusty. What you do CAN determine what happens next in your business.

Recently, I’ve had a couple slow weeks in web design and started getting down. And I got down for a couple of days. Then I was reminded of several months ago a conversation I had with my financial coach. Things were tight and I was was getting frustrated. My business coach said to me, “Kristie, the health of most businesses is held in the mind’s of their customers. How do you feel about your business”

At that time, I said, “I don’t know….” And because I wasn’t sure of how things would be. I even had setup an interview for a marketing job here locally in Chicago. And my husband said, “Kristie, I’m not going to let you give up on your dream.” Those words really hit me. I was giving up on my DREAM.

And that day turned my life around. I saw I had a choice to make. I started envisioning my business growing and finally earning the kind of money I had only dreamed about before. Things really started changing after that.

And the past few days I was getting down again because business was a little slower than usual. I decided to find a “come back” song to get me back in the game. And I found an MP3 of “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor. It’s really got me pumped. I’m ready to go back out there and make it happen in my business.

What gets your pumped up when you get down in business? What’s your come back song? How do you get a winning attitude?
